DEVELOPER
OTPL is looking for an
experienced and talented Magento Web Developer to join our fast-growing Global
Online Department. As the lead Magento Web Developer you will be responsible
for working directly with our Web Designers and implementing their designs
across our Magento sites. A successful Web Developer at OTPL has a deep love
and passion for good code, is innovative in their work, has a positive
attitude, shows initiative, can work independently, is a confident leader, self
starter, and team player. This position will focus on both front-end(70%) and
back-end development(30%). Initially, they will be provided support from our
outsourced back-end Magento team, but our goal is exit this team from the
business.
Important before you read further: Basically a person should be experienced in
Magento and should be comfortable in converting PSD files into HTML and should
have experience in the same skill. This
is more of Designer cum Developer position, so candidate should know that 70%
is front end development and 30% is back end which he should know in Magento.
Basic Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Web Designers to
convert designs into usable web interfaces
• Responsible for re-designing current
sites as well as engineering new sites with a key focus on user interface and
eCommerce optimization techniques
• Develop new Magento Mobile site
• Code Email designs into HTML, with
knowledge of cross compatibility
• Assist in UX project deliverables
(such as concepts, wireframes, user interface designs, design specifications,
etc.) following an iterative design process.
• Implement solutions that utilize
standards-compliant with XHTML and CSS across multiple browsers
• All site maintenance
Skills Required
:
• Strong knowledge of Magento structural
components, i.e. how the static blocks and CMS pages work together
• Ability to convert
CS6 PSD design files with strong working knowledge of PHP, Javascript, JQuery,
HTML, CSS3 and how they work together
• Ability to install and understand
consequences of Magento plugins
• Ability to implement
tracking tags
• Strong knowledge of
cross browser functionality
• Knowledgeable in
development tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility and the underlying
page architecture.
• Knowledge of API
integrations
• Strong proponent of
web standards and usability.
• Ability to work in
fast-paced environment & flexibility to accommodate demanding schedules.
• Positive,
passionate, can-do attitude
• Proven Experience
with Magento (with multi-store architecture),
mandatory. Magento certified,
a plus
• Experience in
developing mobile sites, a plus
• Experience with
responsive code, a plus
• Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop,
Illustrator, etc.), a plus
